Learning Social Skills: 1to1 Therapy Services March Break Camp

Does your child have difficulty making friends and interacting in social situations? This is exactly why 1to1 Therapy Services has created innovative and inclusive March Break day camps focused on social skills, communication and thinking.

These camps are led by Speech Language Therapists and Assistants, with a low therapist to camper ratio to allow for the most enriching and personalized learning experience. We are offering two camps for different age groups from March 14-18, 2016, including:

1. The Social Skills Camp

This half-day March Break camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for children 4-6 years old. This camp will focus on:

  • Social communication skills
  • Making friends and developing play skills
  • Strengthening understanding of non-verbal and verbal communication
  • Exploring feelings and self-expression through music

2. The Incredible Flexible You™: A Social Thinking® Curriculum

This half-day March Break camp runs from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., for children 6-9 years old. It is based on a well-researched curriculum designed to help children develop skills to become flexible social thinkers and social problem solvers. Camp will focus on:

  • Perspective taking
  • Being socially flexible
  • Understanding the feelings of others
  • Reading social cues
  • Developing problem solving skills
  • Self-regulation
  • Maintaining friendships

These camps are inclusive, welcoming all abilities. The programs may be claimed using your Private Health Insurance under Speech Language Pathology or claimed through the Children’s Activity Tax Credit. We also offer additional individual therapy either before or after camp, if requested.
